PETReA Plus: A observational study of treatment and outcomes for people with newly diagnosed follicular lymphoma

Trial aim and background 

The aim of this trial is to collect the following information:

  • duration of time until the follicular lymphoma (FL) worsens based on the FL stage, grade and first line treatment used
    the length of time until the FL returns after treatment (relapses) or stops responding to treatment (refractory) and the overall survival based on the FL stage, grade and first line treatment use
  • what first line treatments are used for different patient characteristics and FL stage and grade
  • what second line treatments are used and how effective they are
  • how often maintenance antibody therapy is used and the reasons it is stopped
  • how often PET scans are used for initial staging
  • what the serious side effects are for the treatments used
  • what people with FL QoL is like during treatment

The trial will enrol all people with newly diagnosed follicular lymphoma who are receiving their first treatment. Data will be collected during the patient’s clinic visits. Other than quality of life (QoL) questionnaires, no extra tests or assessments will be carried out. 


Who can enter

Adults with grade 1, 2, 3A or 3B follicular lymphoma who have had a diagnostic biopsy within the last 6 months and have any planned treatment (including watch and wait) may be eligible for this trial.
